Valfréjus is located between Lyon (218 km) and Turin (110 km) in the Maurienne valley. The village lies at 1,550 m and the highest point at 2,737 m. The Maurienne valley is much further south than the more famous places like Tarentaise La Plagne, Les Arcs and Meribel. In distance the same for the the same snow, but for less money.
Known ski resorts in the valley include La Norma, Val Cenis, Valfréjus, Valloire Valmeinier. Twenty ski resorts have joined forces in Maurienne Sans Frontières, with its own pass.
3 Vallées
The largest ski area in the world with over 600 km slopes to a height of 3230 meters, is reachable in 15 minutes by car from Valfréjus. Connection to the area from Orelle.
